We were thrilled by the turnout and engagement at our recent Canine Osteoarthritis Awareness Seminar! Thank you to everyone who joined us for an informative session focused on managing joint pain and improving quality of life for our aging furry friends.

Our vets shared practical advice, treatment options, and new therapies that can help dogs live more comfortably and actively—even with osteoarthritis.

🐶🐱 Open Weekends – Because Pets Don’t Take Days Off

We're now open Saturdays and Sundays, and the response from the East Molesey (and beyond!) community has been incredible! Thanks to our weekend openings, we've been able to:

  • Perform life-saving emergency surgeries

  • Provide timely care for sudden illnesses or injuries

  • Support working pet parents with more flexible appointment times

Appointments fill fast, so remember you can now book online or call for weekend visits. If your pet is a member of our Fire~Plan then you will not pay for a weekend consultation!

🐕 Muzzle Awareness – When and Why They Matter

Muzzles can be a sensitive topic, but they are sometimes a necessary safety tool—for your pet, our team, and the public.

Here’s why a pet might need to wear a muzzle at the vet:

  • They’re fearful or anxious during exams

  • They have a history of biting under stress

  • They’re in pain, which may make them reactive

At The Vet Station, we believe in fear-free, compassionate care. Our team is trained to use muzzles respectfully, only when needed, and we always prioritise your pet’s comfort and dignity.

If you'd like support introducing your dog to a muzzle in a positive way, we’d be happy to help.




☀️ Keeping Pets Cool in Warmer Weather

As the temperatures start to rise, it’s important to help your pets stay cool and safe. Dogs and cats can quickly overheat, especially breeds with flat faces, thick coats, or underlying health conditions. To keep them comfortable:

  • Ensure they have constant access to fresh, cool water

  • Avoid walks during the hottest part of the day—early morning or late evening is best

  • Provide shaded areas in the garden or use cooling mats indoors

  • Never leave pets in a parked car, even for a minute—it can be fatal

  • Watch for signs of heatstroke: excessive panting, drooling, weakness, or collapse
