You need an animal health certificate to ensure that animals or animal products meet the health and safety regulations of the importing country. This helps prevent the spread of diseases and ensures the animals or products are safe for consumption or use. Without a certificate the importing country may not grant entry.

To obtain an animal health certificate, you generally need to:

• Contact a licensed veterinarian to examine the animal or product.

• Ensure all required vaccinations and tests are completed.

• Submit any necessary paperwork or applications

• The veterinarian or relevant authority will then issue the certificate.

• You will need to collect the certificate, along with your pet so that we can scan their microchip and get a signature from you

The validity of an animal health certificate can vary depending on the type of certificate and the requirements of the importing country. Most animal health certificates to the E.U. are valid for four months from the date of issue. You must travel within ten days of receiving the certificate.

Yes, there are usually fees associated with obtaining an animal health certificate. £80 for the first pet and £30 for each additional pet. If you need the certificate urgently this is £198.
